Underground Railroad

Watch this small video about the underground railroad. It's a bit rough, but it has some good information. Here's the link.

  1. Men and women of courage, both black and white, were convicted of the inherent wrong of slavery. Their commitment to freeing slaves and abolishing slavery were greater than their regard for their own life and safety.
    The Hariett Tubmans and Levi Coffins of this world makes life for much easier for the rest of us. May we always cherish their sacrifice and value their contributions that has made for a more perfect union.

  2. I found it very interesting after so many years that States are apologizing for slavery. Without these contributions from the escapes, beatings,etc, this country's history will not exist.

  3. All who were involved in the Underground Railroad sacrificed their lives. They were strong and noble by showing an act of courage and assisting fugitive slaves escape. It was a successful and organized mission that allowed many slaves to escape the South to freedom.

  4. All the slaves traveling with the under ground railroad were brave and scared pople knowing that if they were caught they would have to go back to be beaten or killed. It was the grace of God that carried them to freedom. To every thing there is a time and a season, this was there time.
